Ranging from the world's driest desert, the Atacama
in the north, a Mediterranean climate in the centre,
to a snow-prone Alpine climate in the south, with
glaciers, Fjords and lakes Chile has a long and narrow coastal strip wedged
between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The relatively small central area dominates the country in terms of population and agricultural resources. This area with the capital of Santiago de Chile is also the cultural and political centre. Chile is one of South America's most stable and prosperous nations. We travelled to Chile in 2009 and for a start we would like to recommend the following journeys we have personally done:
Chile
We know Chile has a lot more to offer such as the Atacama desert, Patagonia and Easter Island. We will continue to give you more options for your Chile experience in the near future.

We can design customized itineraries for journeys of any length in Chile or in combination with any other destination in South America!
Discover the spectacular scenery of these two countries located in the midst of some of the most stunning landscapes between the Pacific Ocean, the Andes and Pampas of Argentina. Active, snow covered volcanoes, lush coastal rainforests, crystal clear lakes, thick forests and the northern part of Patagonia are just a few of the highlights on this journey. The trip includes the metropolitan capital Santiago de Chile, a picturesque, relaxed lake crossing from Puerta Varas to Bariloche, before flying to Buenos Aires. Visit an “estancia” (ranch) where you will get to taste the traditional “asado” (barbecue), and enjoy the gaucho’s way of life. We loved Buenos Aires, the Paris of South America with its European style buildings, its vibrant nightlife offering an unforgettable Tango experience, the cosy bars and restaurants and the relaxed lifestyle of its inhabitants.
Start with a private city tour of the top sights. Cross the main avenues of the city centre and visit La Moneda Palace, the downtown Main Square, the Cathedral Metropolitana, Forestal Park, museums, and towards Bellavista, the Bohemian Quarter of Santiago. Enjoy the view from San Cristóbal Hill with its 36m high Virgin Mary sculpture.
On your second day, head out of town to sample some wine from the surrounding vineyards. The next day travel 140 km west of Santiago to explore Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Vina del Mar known as the 'Garden City,' is one of Chile's premier beach resorts, with excellent hotels, shopping and festivals. Valparaiso, a world heritage site and immortalized in the words of Pablo Neruda, is one of Chile's most charismatic ports, with its charming funiculars and colourful hillside houses.
